Farm Hand wins 2018 Good Food Award!

As a brewery and business founded with an intentional committment to our local agriculture, winning the national Good Food Award for our flagship beer is truly an honor. The nation’s leading food producers, grocers, chefs, journalists and activists united in San Francisco on Friday, January 19th to honor the 199 Good Food Award winners of 2018. An annual awards ceremony now in its eighth year, the Good Food Awards recognizes American food and drink crafters who demonstrate a commitment to creating tasty, authentic and responsibly made products and in doing so, better the nation’s food system. "The 2018 winners are not only commended for their creativity but also for their sustainable production methods that showcase the highest social and environmental standards. These producers protect the land, continue to push the bounds of their craft, and respect their peers, all the while redefining the breadth of the American table." Farm Hand is brewed with a significant amount of Michigan-grown wheat, Lake Michigan water, and for every Farm Hand you buy, we donate 1% of sales to our local charity partners.

Farmhouse Ale - 5.5% ABV

There was a time in old-world France when nearly every family farm had its own brewery. It was a necessary part of farm life to provide a ration of beer to the laborers, as beer was safer to drink than plain water. Farm Hand is our interpretation of what these rustic farmhouse beers must have been like. Brewed with Michigan-grown wheat, we leave this beer unfiltered and rustic to accent the natural lemon-citrus tartness from our fermentation process. This beer is easy drinking for any occasion, but reveals layers of complexity for those who wish to discover them.
